HOME BUYER EDUCATION

MBCDC has assisted thousands of first-time homebuyers through its counseling program over the last 20 years.  First-time homebuyer classes are held in Spanish twice a month.  The classes cover topics such as:

  • Roles of real estate professionals

  • How to get a mortgage

  • The mortgage process

  • Home appraisals and inspections

  • Building and maintaining solid credit

Classes are free and go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A light breakfast and lunch will be served. Attendees will earn their  First Time Homebuyer Education  certificate and have access to one-on-one housing counseling.  In order to benefit from the homebuyer counseling, attendees must bring the following documents on the day of class:

  1. Most recent tax return

  2. 30 days of pay stubs

  3. Bank pre-approval letter if you have one
