Affordable Housing
Since 1998, with the opening of the Shelbourne Apartments, MBCDC has been at the forefront of affordable housing on Miami Beach. The organization has been able to combine its passion for serving the community and for historic preservation, to create 323 units of housing that serve elderly and disabled residents primarily in historic buildings on Miami Beach. MBCDC's housing is ideal for the population it serves because the buildings are centrally located with proximity to public transportation, health care, community centers and the beach. In addition, the organization has one property within the City of Miami developed in partnership with Related Urban Development Group.
The MBCDC is not just a landlord. Working along with Royal American Management (the “RAM”), the MBCDC’s property management company, both attend to the needs of residents with compassion and desire to make a difference.
